The first offer after the merger between Starwood and Marriott is here and it's pretty good. Open a Marriott Rewards Premier Plus credit card and earn 100,000 Marriott points.
Here are the details:
1. Spend $5,000 in the first 3 months
2. $95 annual fee not waived the first year
3. free hotel night on your anniversary (offsets the $95)
4. Earn 6 points per dollar at any Marriott and SPG
5. Earn 2 points per dollar everywhere else
6. silver staus
However, if you have or have had a Marriott Premier or Premier Plus card in the past 24 months, you are not eligible.
